The financial crisis and structural reform – learning from Sweden

The Austrian government has to cope with growing public expenditure and is simultaneously confronted with the prospect of lower fiscal revenues in both the short and the long run. This situation is reminiscent of the case of Sweden in the 1990ies. The lectures will address potential lessons that may be learned from the reform process that took place in Sweden at that time.
