Austria in International Rankings
Der „Monitoring Report 2016“ analysiert anhand einer Vielzahl an Rankings und Indikatoren (insgesamt 150) die Stärken und Schwächen des Wirtschaftsstandorts Österreich und zeigt Österreichs Position und Entwicklung über die letzten Jahre im internationalen Vergleich auf. Folgende zehn Themenbereiche werden dabei beleuchtet: „Wettbewerbsfähigkeit“, „Arbeitsmarkt“, „Investitionen und Finanzmarkt“, „Regulierung und Reformen“, „Innovation, F&E und IKT“, „Bildung und Wissenschaft“, „Lebensqualität und Entwicklung“, „Umwelt und Nachhaltigkeit“, „Internationalisierung und Demokratie“ sowie „Städte und Regionen“.
Der Monitoring Report bietet ein umfassendes Bild über den Standort Österreich. Unser Land befindet sich regelmäßig nahe der Spitze in vielen Rankings, gleichzeitig besteht aber auch Verbesserungspotenzial in einigen Bereichen. Zuletzt hat Österreich im internationalen Vergleich leider an Boden verloren bzw. tritt auf der Stelle. Der Monitoring Report dient als wertvolles Vergleichsinstrument sowie Entscheidungsgrundlage für wirtschaftspolitische Maßnahmen, damit alles daran gesetzt wird, den Standort Österreich in Zukunft weiter zu stärken und zu verbessern.
Austria in International Rankings
The “Monitoring Report 2016” analyses Austria’s strengths and weaknesses by reviewing a large variety of international rankings and indicators (a total of 150). The following ten subject areas are considered: “Competitiveness”, “Labor Market”, “Investment and Financial Market”, “Regulation and Reforms”, “Innovation, R&D and ICT”, “Education and Science”, “Quality of Life and Development”, Environment and Sustainability”, “Internationalization and Democracy” as well as “Cities and Regions”. The aim of the report is to offer a comprehensive image of Austria as a business location. Austria is consistently near the top of many rankings, but unfortunately it has been losing ground in recent years. The report thus may give an impetus for the “management of change” and clearly illustrates where challenges are and where potential for improvement lies.
